2012 Rising Star Award – Awarded to Denise Blair, Executive Director by Athabasca University. AU’S RISING STAR ALUMNI AWARD celebrates potential. Denise Blair (MBA,’10) is the founder and Executive Director of Calgary Youth Justice Society. Through her studies at AU, Blair was inspired to create In the Lead, an innovative leadership development program for youth. The program charts a new path for recognizing the potential of young people and for helping them to realize that potential, in large part by focusing on what is strong, rather than on what is wrong.
