2012 Rising Star Award – Awarded to Denise Blair, Executive Director by Athabasca University. AU’S RISING STAR ALUMNI AWARD celebrates potential. Denise Blair (MBA,’10) is the founder and Executive Director of Calgary Youth Justice Society. Through her studies at AU, Blair was inspired to create In the Lead, an innovative leadership development program for youth. The program charts a new path for recognizing the potential of young people and for helping them to realize that potential, in large part by focusing on what is strong, rather than on what is wrong.
2012 Alberta Solicitor General & Public Security Crime Prevention Award – Awarded to Denise Blair, Executive Director – acknowledging those who make an extraordinary contribution in promoting community safety through crime prevention.
2010 Calgary Police Commission Community Policing Award – Honouring individuals and groups that contribute in an extraordinary way to improve police policy and/or the ability of the Calgary Police Service to serve the community.
